PROBLEM

After being postponed by a year and with stadium numbers still strictly reduced due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Budweiser wanted to help people get back in the spirit of the Euros.

 

INSIGHT

With the tournament providing countless occasions for friends and family to get together we needed to join the camaraderie to increase brand awareness.

 

IDEA

​

To align with the modern Bud brand and overcome the challenge of not being able to film live action crowds during the pandemic, we recreated one of Bud’s most iconic ads entirely in CG. Featuring music from Dizzy Rascal, our electrifying edit builds on the energy of the crowd to keep Bud on the brain throughout the Euros.

WORKING WITH FRAMESTORE 
 

When designing and building a bespoke Budweiser Stadium and its surroundings the main objective was to create a beautiful contemporary structure that embodied the aspirational Bud brand. The biggest challenge when you have to recreate an environment like a stadium in a city at night is to make all the fine details photorealistic enough to make it believable, and yet keep it crisp and clean. We created a vibrant new crowd of 120,000 virtual fans to animate the wave. With little room to hide behind fancy lens effects, heavy atmospherics elements or camera moves, we managed to elevate full CG into something authentic.
